Thirdly, we assign dedicated project team containing, a project manager, developer, senior a designer, front-end and back-end developers, a DevOps professional and a QA team right from the start of the project so that your project is kicked-off quickly and there are no delays in timeline and pre-defined project milestones. We also ensure complete security and privacy of the clients and their project information as part of our core values.
We give importance to following a transparent approach when it comes to projects. There are weekly phone calls, regular email communications and status updates provided on cloud-based collaboration tools to provide project updates.
We follow a calendar and a periodic feedback system at defined milestones/sprints throughout the development process before releasing the final app to the client. This helps us avoid any project rework or discrepancies which might lead to delay in the overall project lifecycle.
We, at Blue Whale Apps, follow Agile and Scrum methodology, wherein we encourage periodic development and testing to ensure the cost of changes in the application is minimum. With this approach, we encourage teamwork, accountability, and frequent inspection as well as adaptation to deliver quality output within the timeline. Although requirements are bound to change, we follow the best agile practices to incorporate changes without disturbing the development process.
As part of Scrum methodology, we have an iterative and incremental development process, wherein the entire project is broken down into sprints. Based on these sprints, we analyze the development efforts and commit the resources to each sprint right from the start of the project that helps in maintaining a continuous delivery of the pre-defined sprints within the agreed timeline. With this, we follow test-driven-development (TDD) and continuous integration (CI) cycles to ensure quality and speed in the ongoing projects.
Since each project is different, the requirements differ for each project. However, it is advisable for clients to share everything that clarifies the project requirements. This may include, a document containing required features, design drawings, PSD files, pre-prepared mock-ups, wireframes (if any), design assets, API and technical documents, access to the development environment, codebase, internal data, and tools (if any). Along with this, we highly appreciate samples of existing apps, design or functionality (if any).
The timeline to complete an app development project depends upon the type, features, and complexity of the app. However, ideally, it takes around 4-5 months’ time on an average in which we divide the development in different phases. Phase one covers the initial planning, designing, and prototyping efforts which can last for 4-6 weeks, while phase two involves development, integration, testing efforts, which can take around 6-8 weeks. Further, it takes around 1-2 weeks in final changes and 2-3 weeks in server-side deployment, publishing, and App Store approval.
