Blue Whale has recently developed an iPad and iPhone app for a nephrologist called KalcuLytes, which is an electrolytes replacement calculator. It was released in the App Store on December 3rd. The app is for the use of medical professionals to treat patients with low magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium levels. Kalculytes was developed based on a copyrighted formula to provide the recommended dosing for patients based on certain patient data.
KalcuLytes can be used for patients with Hypomagnesemia, Hypophosphatemia, and Hypokalemia. The dose is derived by inputting the patient’s age, gender, weight, electrolyte levels, and renal function. After the proper information is submitted, the user is able to view the dosage for both oral/enteral and intravenous routes.
